There's Hope: Spontaneous Remission

Have you been diagnosed with a life threatening disease? Perhaps your Doctor has told you it’s “terminal”, or “incurable” and you’ve been advised to get your affairs in order. This article is especially for you. I want to bring you a sense of hope and inspiration by sharing some real-life cases of Spontaneous Remission.

As Deepak Chopra M.D. says “you can believe the diagnosis, but not the prognosis”. By this he means, don’t buy into the idea that you have a definite expiration date! As you will see from the case studies below, many people have self-healed from so called “terminal” and “incurable” diseases, by taking radical steps towards their health and wellbeing. The people in the cases described below are now disease-free and have lived many years past their “expiration date”.

These real life stories are taken from Dr Kelly Turner’s Radical Remission website. Dr Kelly Turner has spent a decade researching cases of Spontaneous Remission all over the world. Many of the cases of remission were people with Stage 4 Cancers, and they were compiled into her book Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds.

From her research, she found that people who experienced Radical Remission were not passive in their treatment, instead they actively participated in their cure.

She compiled a list of “9 Radical Remission Factors” that were common across the survivors. And you may be surprised to learn that only two of these factors relate directly to improving the health of the physical body! While these 9 factors can’t guarantee your remission, they are certainly essential elements to your treatment programme if you want to drastically improve your chances of survival.

9 Radical Remission Factors:

  1. Radically changing your diet

  2. Using Herbs & Supplements

  3. Increasing Positive Emotions

  4. Releasing Suppressed Emotions

  5. Following Your Intuition

  6. Deepening Your Spiritual Connection

  7. Increasing Social Support

  8. Finding Strong Reasons for Living

  9. Taking Control of Your Health

Though I share only three Spontaneous Remission cases with you here, there are thousands of cases listed on Dr Kelly Turner’s website. The website also includes stories of remission from diseases other than Cancer.

I encourage you to enjoy searching and reading as many other cases as you need to, until you feel hopeful and positive about your own situation. Then use this energy to engage positively in your own treatment by including the 9 Radical Remission Factors into your plan. If you would like my support and guidance to do this, I would love to help you.

Case Study 1

In 1998, Cathie was diagnosed with Stage 4, Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The doctors told her that this was “incurable”. She refused to accept this deciding “that was not good enough”, and went in search of alternatives.

She says the first thing that she did was to decide she wanted to live. She received no conventional medicine, and instead focussed all her energy on changing her life and limiting beliefs through alternative therapies.

She believes that changing her lifestyle and releasing unconscious beliefs that she was unlovable and worthless were large factors in her improvement.

Within 1 year of her diagnosis, she was told there was no sign of cancer! As at 2017 when she documented her story she has remained cancer-free.

Cathie tried all 9 of the following Radical Remission Factors:

  • Diet Change

  • Herbs & Supplements

  • Increasing Positive Emotions

  • Releasing Suppressed Emotions

  • Following Your Intuition

  • Deepening Your Spiritual Connection

  • Increasing Social Support

  • Finding Strong Reasons for Living

  • Taking Control of Your Health

Case Study 2

In 2010, Di was diagnosed with Stage 4, Terminal Secondary Breast Cancer in the Lungs. She was given 1 year to live and sent home to get her affairs in order.

Di refused to accept this diagnosis and listened “to the whisper of my own heart…Be happy, go natural, be grateful”

Following her beliefs, she refused conventional medical treatment and instead received alternative therapies.

After 1 year of intensive healing Di felt healed and had a baby. in 2013 she had a scan that showed No Disease in her lungs. As at 2018, that’s 8 years after her terminal diagnosis, she is “still fine and living a full, natural life”.

Di tried all 9 of the following Radical Remission Factors:

  • Diet Change

  • Herbs & Supplements

  • Increasing Positive Emotions

  • Releasing Suppressed Emotions

  • Following Your Intuition

  • Deepening Your Spiritual Connection

  • Increasing Social Support

  • Finding Strong Reasons for Living

  • Taking Control of Your Health

Case Study 3

In 1966 after 5 years of debilitating symptoms, Mary was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Turning away from conventional treatment and instead tuning into her intuition for healing guidance, she felt guided to “do something creative” every day which she did faithfully.

After 1 year Mary was completely symptom free, and at age 79 has remained symptom free for over 50 years.

Mary tried 7 of the 9 Radical Remission Factors (she didn’t change her diet or use herbs & supplements):

  • Increasing Positive Emotions

  • Releasing Suppressed Emotions

  • Following Your Intuition

  • Deepening Your Spiritual Connection

  • Increasing Social Support

  • Finding Strong Reasons for Living

  • Taking Control of Your Health
